Model Making.

Ah! I am at my 8th week for my BA (Hons) Interior Architecture course. I have learnt a lot! I am happy with what I am doing. This is what I've always dream of learning... designing a space. For one of my class "Introduction to Interior Design Projects", my lecturer asked us to form a group of 5 people and with that group we have to create an edutainment space.

Edutainment space is a space where people educate themselves through entertainment. So we brainstorm a few ideas and decided on one which was to create a prison themed space with a "Life in Prison" description. We want our client (students) to learn how it feels like being in a prison.

So instead of actually building it up, we build it up through model making. This is my first time being involve with this type of work and honestly I find it tough but it's actually fun!

Here is what our model making looked like.

We have a prison cell, to show how the cell looks like. A punishment room with a TV at the side of the room where we show them how they punish the prisoners. A prison communal toilet/shower where we show them that prisoners have to shower and go to toilet in public. We put in a photo booth section where you can take picture of yourself being handcuffed or being hanged.

We covered the whole room with concrete wall and flooring to gives off that eerie feeling and even gives off that feeling like you are in a prison.

On top of that, we hang few ropes on the ceiling to make it more eerie looking.

I was really happy with the result and so was our lecturer. We recently got our second project and this time it's individual work. This time we have to create a personal space for our "imaginary client" and our imaginary client is our icon. We have to create a personal space based on their lifestyle and identity. I'm really excited for this one!

My Own Piece of Art.

I've been slacking off ever since Foundation ended last December but I finally managed to bring myself up and do something useful. I've been trying to gain up my drawing skills by drawing portraits of people. I got interested in this ever since I drew a portrait of myself for one of my assignments. I told myself I'm going to draw this one person I admire so much one day and I finally managed to make myself do it. I got worried that it won't look like him but it actually did! So I'm really happy with the result!

His name is Lee Jaehwan, a Korean pop lead singer for the group, VIXX. I've been admiring him for a year now. He's really amazing! and I really love this photoshoot. This photo came out really well and I fell in love. I couldn't help myself but to draw this picture.

I remember I wanted to draw another person I admire, but I didn't have a proper picture of him so I searched for one. I tried drawing it but it didn't came out right. Right there and then, I realized how important your feelings are for a picture, it actually can be a muse for you when you try to draw the exact same photo because I didn't really like the photo I chose to draw that other guy compare to this one.

I've been drawing a few more people but still not completely looking out great compare to this.
